About us
Kingston University’s School of Nursing is one of the top-ranking schools in the Guardian University League Table 2022. As a teaching and research-focused institution with a strong reputation for academic leadership, we offer some of the best nursing courses in the UK. At an important moment in our development, we are now looking for a dynamic, innovative and strategic Head of School to lead and drive growth and transformation across our hugely successful team, bringing new ideas and developing ambitious initiatives. In turn, you’ll be supported by a committed and dedicated team who will help you build on our reputation as a sector-leader in the education and development of the next generation of nurses.
About your role
We need an exceptionally inspirational, confident and visionary leader who will join our leadership team. Nurturing crucial relationships, you will guide and champion transformation in our already hugely successful school.
Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education, this is a career-defining opportunity for you to take on a significant leadership role as we embark on an exciting programme of change over the next year.
About your experience
Your well-developed leadership skills will be underpinned by extensive experience in nursing, which you’ll use to enhance the student experience as you bring fresh ideas and opportunities to the school. You will also be accountable for managing our resources, finances and income generation, so you will be highly numerate. To advance our research you’ll foster a collaborative culture, and you will be keen to obtain funding for a range of scholarly activities.
You will be well-suited to this opportunity if you have a successful track record in a similar role, and you are now seeking the scope to stretch your capabilities. You should have a relevant PhD and a recognised teaching qualification, and you will have a thorough understanding of nursing on a regional, national and international level.
Along with significant experience in higher education, you’ll be a strong, effective and strategic leader, with the capacity to manage resources and motivate teams. You should also ideally have a good track record in research.
We have a dedicated Consultant working in partnership with us on this opportunity. If you would like to arrange an informal chat before considering applying please click Apply.
