About the role

The Global and Engagement portfolio leads the University’s domestic and international engagement activities, and consists of the International team, Heads of Campuses, Aboriginal Education Centre, Alumni and Advancement, the Global Professional School and the New Business Accelerator. Supporting the University’s 2021-2025 Strategic Plan to deliver new products through different channels such as online learning, business to business, micro-credentials and short course offerings.

You will contribute to implementing and sustaining high quality Blended Online and Digital (BOLD) practice in products developed within the New Business Accelerator. In collaboration with other SMEs and portfolios, you will successfully develop and implement a suite of programs including online learning programs, pathway programs, micro-credentials, short courses, business and industry training and innovation programs.

About you

Reporting to the Academic Lead, as a member of the newly created New Business Accelerator team, the appointee will possess expert knowledge and experience around blended and online learning and teaching. Your creativity, and innovative mindset will enable you to provide expert guidance and advice to various stakeholders. Your contributions will substantially contribute to the performance of the University in quality teaching, student learning outcomes and the competitiveness of the University in the education and professional development market.

You will possess extensive knowledge of the Australian tertiary sector, and have demonstrated success in contemporary andragogy, tertiary pedagogies and educational design principles, and knowledge of their application to different delivery modes across face to face, blended, digital and online learning. In addition to experience designing and developing active online and blended learning and teaching in adult or higher education cohorts, with a passion for storyboarding and working with a range of multimedia assets to produce sound educational lesson flows within a curriculum framework.

You will:

  • contribute to the development of capability of teaching staff, specifically with educational technologies and associated pedagogies and in accordance with BOLD principles, practices and strategies;.
  • design learning activities and assessment tasks that align to course learning outcomes, in conjunction with academic teaching staff;
  • determine and implement resolutions to complex issues relating to the choice of pedagogies, learning technologies, teaching and learning philosophies and approaches, accessibility and inclusion;
  • provide high quality editorial, quality assurance and learning design measures to deliver high-quality content across programs that meet the growing needs of Australia's and international learners and educators; and
  • take an active role in the development and delivery of institutional showcases and contribute to showcasing and sharing examples of successful BOLD learning and teaching practice.
