About You

You will be an experienced academic with substantial experience in the development and delivery of high quality education in areas relating to nursing and midwifery and of research. You will have excellent leadership skills with significant and successful experience of leading, managing and motivating academic staff and supporting them to reach their full potential. 

You will have an excellent and established track record of acting as an ambassador and building and sustaining successful partnerships and collaborations with healthcare providers, commissioners and educators.  

You will also have substantial experience of quality and academic governance and in leading and managing high quality learning and teaching programmes, compliant with NMC standards and requirements. 

You will be an NMC registrant and have a strong academic profile.

The title of Professor may be offered to successful candidates who meet the current Edge Hill award requirements.

About the Role 

Joining our Faculty Leadership and Management Team you will have shared responsibility for developing and leading the Faculty and specifically for providing strategic direction and support for the Nursing and Midwifery portfolio to ensure long-term sustainability.

Providing visionary and inspirational leadership you will assist in the further development of a culture of high performance and develop a cohesive, effective and efficient team where all staff in Nursing and Midwifery feel valued and supported to reach their full potential.

You will provide strong leadership and work closely with the Heads of Department for Nursing and Midwifery to ensure excellent academic and placement learning, high levels of support and outcomes for students. You will lead the team to ensure effective and efficient delivery maximising resources and expertise and high-quality learning and teaching

Acting as a brand ambassador to enhance the external reputation of the Faculty, you will build and sustain effective partnerships with external stakeholders of relevance to ensure continuous programme improvement, and that future development is informed by the needs of providers and commissioners. 

Working with senior research colleagues you will play a key role in leading the further development of research capacity and capability within nursing and midwifery ensuring appropriate support, time and development opportunities for staff and embedding a culture of research enquiry and activity within nursing and midwifery.

The post holder will provide inspirational leadership and develop a cohesive, effective and efficient team where all staff in nursing and midwifery feel valued and are supported to reach their full potential.

The post aligns to the appointment of the new Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine and supports the continued expansion of the Faculty.
