An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to work in the University of Southampton’s Sport and Wellbeing facilities, which are open to its students, staff and members of the wider community. These include the signature Jubilee Sports Centre, Mayflower Gym, Wide Lane Sports’ Ground and the Watersports Centre. An extensive range of sport and leisure classes, courses and facilities are available to our customers from 07:00 to 22:00 every day of the week. We are looking for a sports professional to provide consistently high-quality fitness classes and gym initiatives to our customers.

The post holder should be qualified to GCSE/NVQ 2/City in Guilds or equivalent. Holding a Level 2 Gym Qualification, Indoor Cycling Qualification and a First Aid qualification is essential, as is being a Member of Register of Exercise Professionals Level 2 or equivalent. Relevant experience in the fitness and leisure industry is an advantage, along with the experience of delivering sessions to customers such as fitness classes and gym initiatives. This is a full time post working set hour working patterns.

The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated and organised Sport and Wellbeing team responsible for ensuring safe and efficient sessions are carried out, meeting accredited standards. Also ensuring customers get the most out of their classes, courses or instruction. You should have proven experience in handling a diverse range of situations in a customer focused environment.
