TECHNICIAN

A post is available within the Carbon, Crop and Soil research group (CCS) to assist in the day-to- day research activities of the group. This will involve working in the laboratories, glasshouse and field work. Duties will include:
• Managing glasshouse facilities
• Helping prepare plants for research projects and teaching classes
• Working in both molecular and soil laboratories
• Assisting in field experiments
• Processing plant and soil samples as required
Ideally you should have a qualification in plant biology up to HND level along with experience of working across laboratory, glasshouse and/or field environments. You should possess knowledge of crop growth and development, soil biology and chemistry, and insect pests.
