At the Department of Commercial and Business Law (working area Univ.-Prof. Dr. Chris Thomale LL.M. International Commercial and Business Law) the position of an University Assistant (prae doc) is vacant.

The employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 3 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months. There is the possibility of an extension up to 4 years.

Duration of employment: 3 years

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

The gross monthly salary of the B1 salary group amounts to EUR 2,971.50, paid 14 times a year.

Job Description:

The main tasks include participating in research and teaching at the chair, particularly in the areas of Civil Law and Commercial and Business Law. The position serves for one's own scientific qualification, the opportunity for a doctorate is given. A dissertation agreement is expected to be concluded between 12-18 months. Participation in and independent teaching of courses to the extent of the collective agreement provisions.

Profile:
Completed diploma or master’s degree in law or business law. Very good knowledge of Civil Law as well as Corporate, Commercial and Business Law (good academic success is desirable).
Research interests in (international) commercial or corporate law, comparative law or in international private law as well as relevant experience abroad are an advantage, as is a command of the English language and, ideally, other foreign languages.
