Allied Health Professionals - University Tutor – Simulation and Clinical Skills
Grade 5 (Secondment – up to NHS band 6)
Post 1: Full time or 2 x 0.5 FTE considered (1 year fixed term contract or 1 year secondment from NHS/Private employer) - focused on AHP Clinical Skills delivery
Post 2: 1 day per week (I year fixed term contract or 1 year secondment from NHS/Private employer) – focused on occupational therapy placement development

An exciting, new opportunity has arisen within the School of Health and Social Care for a University Tutors to join the Simulation and Clinical Skills Team to contribute to the learning, teaching and assessment (LTA) of simulation and clinical skills in the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) programmes.
Our large facility is versatile and covers everything from a critical care unit and clinical ward to a home environment and is also utilised to facilitate learning and simulation to a number of external organisations and private companies.

The Role
We are seeking an individual who has the knowledge, skills, experience and ability to contribute to the learning, teaching and assessment (LTA) on our AHP programmes. The clinical skills and simulated practice LTA centres round the programmes to ensure the AHP students are well prepared for clinical practice. The University Tutor will join the team to provide support for practice learning and will involve facilitating a variety of simulation and clinical skills together with student assessment as well as associated administrative duties. The university tutor will be based within the at our Sighthill Campus as part of the Allied Health Professional teaching team
Who we are looking for
Essential requirements:
- Degree in a relevant discipline or Significant professional practice experience
- Relevant professional body registration with HCPC
- Experience of delivering and supporting undergraduate or postgraduate students, in either an online, distance learning or face-to-face environment in either clinical practice or HEI setting.
Desirable Requirements:
- MSc in relevant discipline
- PG Cert for Teaching in Higher Education or other relevant qualification in teaching (or readiness to undertake)
- Ideally HEA membership or a strong willingness to achieve membership within 2 years of appointment
