SRUC has a long record of delivery of education programmes within Environmental Management. Programmes have always been developed in partnership with industry and have attracted students from across Scotland, the UK, and internationally.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Environment & Wildlife Conservation Management team at SRUC’s Edinburgh Kings Buildings Campus.  A working knowledge of current issues relating to Environmental Management is essential in relation to climate change, sustainable development and community project management. Prior experience in education/research and social science methods will be an advantage.

The successful applicant will be a fixed term full-time teaching member of the Environment and Wildlife Conservation Teaching team at our Edinburgh campus. The main duties of the post will be to provide tuition from HNC through to BSc (SCQF level 7 – 10) for students in subject areas such as Research Skills and Data Analysis, Community Project Management and Climate Change.  Environmental modules are also included in the Agriculture, RBM, Horticulture, and Applied Bioscience programmes, although most teaching will be into the Environmental Management or Wildlife and Conservation Management Programmes.

Applicants should be able to tailor their teaching styles to address the needs of the different academic levels. Other duties will include recruitment duties, therefore candidates should have strong people and networking skills. You will be a well-motivated and enthusiastic team player with a commitment to delivering quality education.

The post will be based at SRUC Kings Buildings Campus in Edinburgh and will be full-time and up to 12 months fixed term maternity cover.

You should possess a relevant first degree. Teaching experience is desirable. You should have a working knowledge of issues relating to community project management (environment focussed) and undertaking social studies.
