The Faculty of Health Science has offered a Bachelor of Nutrition Science from its Melbourne and North Sydney campuses since 2018, and Blacktown campus from 2021. In 2021 the Bachelor of Nutrition Science/Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science launched successfully from the Melbourne and Sydney campuses. In 2022, ACU will launch a Master of Dietetic Practice and Graduate Certificate in Culinary Nutrition Science. ACU’s Master of Dietetic Practice is designed to produce graduates of the future with a curriculum that focuses on skill development and competence in dietetic practice with individuals and groups (from local to global populations), developing communities, in culinary nutrition science, entrepreneurship and management, and research.

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics will make a significant contribution to the academic and administrative activities of the national School of Behavioural and Health Sciences, with key responsibilities in the development and delivery of the Master of Dietetic Practice in the discipline of Nutrition and Dietetics, in line with the School’s national curricula.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Develop and manage (C)/Coordinate (B) quality work/practice placement experiences for students in Nutrition and Dietetics;
  • Provide academic leadership in Course Coordination (C) and undertake lecturer-in-charge roles (campus and National) for specific units of study in undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Nutrition and Dietetics (B/C);
  • Undertake discipline-based leadership through engagement (C)/Engage (B) with relevant internal and external stakeholders to foster strong local, national, and international relations;
  • Implement (C)/Engage in (B) strategies to foster a dynamic, service-oriented, and enterprising culture within the Discipline.

You will need to have:

  • A postgraduate degree (PhD desirable but not essential) in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related discipline (B).
  • A postgraduate degree (PhD desirable but not essential) in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related discipline, with significant relevant industry experience (C).
  • Accredited Practising Dietitian (with Dietitians Australia) – essential (B/C).;
  • Evidence of ability to show commitment with integrity to the Catholic Identity, Mission and ethos of the University;
  • Teaching experience, including Lecturer-in-Charge duties, with evidence of design and delivery of innovative and quality learning environments for the discipline of Nutrition and Dietetics (B);
  • A significant academic teaching profile, including Lecturer-in-Charge and/or Course Coordination duties, with evidence of design and delivery of innovative and quality learning environments for the discipline of Nutrition and Dietetics (C).

Total remuneration valued to $123,584 total rem - $145,796 total rem pa, including salary component $104,430 - $123,298 pa (Academic Level B), OR $154,629 total rem - $167,878 total rem pa, including salary component $130,847 - $142,171 pa (Academic Level C); employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
