The role

The successful applicant will largely be working with students and academics in the areas of global management and international business. You will work alongside academic staff to deliver teaching, provide support and be responsible for the administration and tutoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The department teaches undergraduate majors in Management, International Business and Human Resource Management as well as masters degrees in International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Business.

As a Teaching Fellow you will take part in the team delivery of MANT217 (International Management) and coordinate tutors for associated tutorials in Semester 1. In addition, you will design and deliver tutorials for MANT342 (Global Business Strategy).

In Semester 2, you will design and deliver tutorials for MANT332 (International Management) and deliver guest lectures in MANT101 (Managing for Performance). Additionally, this role will coordinate and manage workshops for MANT101.

You will take an active role in the administration of the Master of International Business in both Semester 1 and 2, and coordinate and supervise student projects over the summer.

Your skills and experience:

  • PhD or Masters degree.
  • Demonstrated teaching/tutoring experience at tertiary level in global business management/international business.
  • A track record of working collegially as a team member.
  • Experience in administration and co-ordination.

Applicants should also be willing to engage:

  • In research and teaching that support engagement of students and staff with te ao Māori, te reo Māori and mātauranga Māori.
  • In upholding values, tikanga, kawa and traditions as guided by Ngāi Tahu, who hold mana whenua.

Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in global business management/international business.

Additional consideration will be given for demonstrated potential in advancing mātauranga Māori/ Te Ao Māori perspectives in the study of business and management in general.
