University College Birmingham are seeking to recruit an individual with Nursing experience and current registration status, combined with experience of assessing and an understanding of apprenticeships, to join our dedicated team.
This is an exciting time to join the Department of Health, as we are working to increase our portfolio of Nurse training programmes. It is envisaged that Nurse training will be delivered through both a traditional degree route, and apprenticeships. This is therefore an opportunity to work with a diverse range of learners, with varying backgrounds and work/educational experiences, who seek to further their qualifications and careers in a flexible way.
Alongside relevant vocational experience, the successful candidate will hold a Level 5 professional qualification, and a recognised Assessor/Mentorship qualification. You will be self-motivated, with a drive to contribute to the development of Nursing/Healthcare programmes and apprenticeships. To support this, you will demonstrate sound organisation and administrative skills, proficiency in IT, and a commitment to working as part of a team.
The University is well-supported in respect of professional development for its staff, and it is expected that the post-holder will take a proactive and enthusiastic approach to continuing professional development, including retaining NMC registration and the achievement of a recognised teaching qualification, if not already held.
Applications for full and part-time appointments will be considered, and a flexible approach to work is expected. A reasonable amount of travel in order to visit apprentices and work places off-site, should also be taken into consideration.
Staff benefits include 50 days’ paid leave per year, excellent staff development opportunities, pension scheme and a private healthcare policy.
Closing date: Monday 20 September 2021 at midday
