The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. The application package should include a cover letter, a detailed resume, a brief description of current/future research activities, teaching philosophy, and courses taught. English is the language of instruction and communication. Screening of applications will continue until the position is filled. The successful candidate will do laboratory research, teaching and assessment activities of undergraduate preclinical and clinical medical students in Internal Medicine and collaborate with other departments of CMHS for basic- and clinical-science research and other teaching/assessment activities.

Minimum Qualification

• Ph.D, Pharmacology & Pharmacy
• Post-doctoral experience/training in translational research

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience

• 5 or more years of experience as a research specialist/assistant in an academic institution
• Undergraduate Teaching/Assessment experience
• Research intensive portfolio in CV
• Evidence of multidisciplinary collaboration in his/her research portfolio
•  Research experience in below applications
• Handling of animal (Mice, Rat and Rabbits) and development of animal models
• Drug transporter studies (In vivo , Ex-vivo & In ovo)
• Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Infra-red Imaging, spectrofluorometer
• High throughput techniques like Parallel artificial membrane assay (PAMPA), Cassette dosing (N-In-One) technique for high speed NCE screening for kinetics
• Microarray techniques (96x16, 384x 4,96x47 platforms)
• PCR skills : Real Time-PCR, gelatin zymography & western blotting
• Western Blot
• Pilot scale pharmaceutical formulations; sterile injectables, ampoule sealing
• Conducting preclinical kinetic, dynamic and toxicokinetics
• In silico modeling software’s like Accelerys, CaChe, GAMESS, Chem BioDraw, Chem sketch, Finch, Modeling
• Pharmacogenomics assay
• ELISA assays
• Mutation detection assay using Real time PCR
• Genotyping Assay using Real time PCR (Quant Studio 7), DNA/ RNA Extraction from different body fluids
