We are seeking an Outreach Co-ordinator to join our Student Recruitment and Marketing department as part of our newly formed Schools and Events team. This is an exciting time to join this growing team, which has been created in order to pool resources, share skills and co-ordinate recruitment efforts across the university.
Working closely with the Outreach Officer, Student Recruitment Manager and Access & Participation team, you will be responsible for building relationships with teachers and careers advisors, delivering presentations and workshops, and contributing to the development of a strategic programme of outreach work for schools and colleges.
The successful candidate will have excellent public speaking and presentation skills and ideally hold a degree or be able to demonstrate relevant experience. You will also have a good understanding of, and commitment to, the importance of widening access in Higher Education and an understanding of the challenges of arts teaching in secondary education.
This role would suit someone with a passion for creative arts education who loves working with people and building strong relationships. You will be travelling locally and nationally to visit schools and colleges and represent the university at various recruitment fairs, so you must be a proactive and confident communicator.
We also require all candidates to have a full clean UK driving licence.
This position involves working with children (under-18s) and therefore requires compliance with the University’s Safeguarding Policies, including the requirement for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance prior to the commencement of employment. The University is committed to stringent Safeguarding practices, including in its practices around the recruitment and selection of staff, to positions which involve working with children and/or vulnerable people. The successful candidate will be required to complete AUB approved Safeguarding Training.
