Associate Professor / Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer II / Lecturer I / Lecturer II – Key Strategic Areas

The University is now seeking enthusiastic, talented and highly dedicated persons to take part in the development for the following Key Strategic Areas :

  • English Studies and Digital Communication
  • Digital Humanities
  • Artificial Intelligence and Education
  • Educational Technology
  • Sports and Life Coaching
  • Heritage Studies and Museum Education
  • Arts Management
  • Family Studies and Family Education
  • Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • Project Management and Programme Innovation

Depending on the position, the appointees are expected to undertake a wide variety of scholarly, research and teaching activities including but not limited to programmes/courses development, planning, management and coordination; performing teaching and education-related duties, conducting research, supervision of student projects and field experiences/internships, and engaging in departmental and faculty services.

For the positions of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor, applicants should have a Doctoral degree in the above key strategic areas. They should be active researchers with a growing publication record, be able to continue conducting research that attracts competitive external funding and leads to publications in leading international journals, and have post-qualification teaching experience in the tertiary education sector and commitment to high quality teaching.  Applicants must also show the capacity for academic leadership in promoting teaching, research and community services in Hong Kong, China and the Asia Pacific Region. Bilingual competency in English and Chinese will be advantageous

For the position of Senior Lecturer II, applicants should have a Master’s degree in the above key strategic areas with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant post-qualification teaching experience; or preferably a doctoral degree plus a minimum of 3 years’ relevant post-qualification teaching experience. Applicants with less relevant post-qualification teaching experience will be considered for the position of Lecturer I or Lecturer II. Applicants should preferably possess a relevant professional teaching certificate, e.g. PGDE or qualification of Qualified Teacher Status recognized by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong or other professional qualification of equivalence. Proven evidence of quality teaching and/or successful record of relevant professional experience or project development at primary/secondary and/or tertiary level is required. Significant contributions to in-school curriculum development, related community services, networking with Greater Bay Area, China as well as successful external funding records will have an advantage.

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
