The Department of Business Strategy and Innovation (BSI) has established a reputation for shaping global and national leaders in the fields of global strategy, sustainable business, digital innovation, and entrepreneurship. We challenge the boundaries in research, teaching and engagement and it is our mission to be at the forefront in global innovative business thinking. We are in a phase of expansion and are looking for ambitious, leading members of the academic community who can help drive our research and teaching priorities in the areas of Global Strategy, Supply Chain and Digital Business.

We are therefore recruiting for the following opportunities:

  • Associate Professor or Professor in Global Strategy
  • Associate Professor or Professor in Supply Chain
  • Associate Professor or Professor in Digital Business

We are seeking applications from talented individuals within Australia and abroad with outstanding academic achievement, communication, and leadership skills in order to contribute to the overall culture of excellence in research, learning and teaching, and engagement within the Department.

The successful applicants will have established track records in research and industry funding and be expected to undertake high quality research at Griffith University. Successful applicants will contribute to the design of curriculum and delivery of teaching in the areas of Global Strategy, Supply Chain or Digital Business and will actively and effectively supervise honours, post-graduate and PhD candidates.

The three (3) positions are full time, continuing opportunities based at the Nathan or Gold Coast campus. It is expected that the successful candidate will be available to attend campus in person as a normal requirement of the role. Further, you may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises, which the University currently has or may subsequently acquire or at any premises at which it may from time to time provide services.

About you

For the following positions the successful candidate will possess a PhD from an AACSB accredited institution in the following disciplines:

  • A/Prof or Professor in Global Strategy: a PhD in International Business, Asia-Pacific Engagement, or a related discipline, such as Strategic Leadership.
  • A/Prof or Professor in Supply Chain: a PhD in Supply Chain and Logistics, Sustainable Business, or a related discipline, such as Production and Operations Management.
  • A/Prof or Professor in Digital Business: a PhD in Business Analytics, Technology Management, Information Systems, Digital Economy or a related discipline, such as Forensic Intelligence.

You will have an excellent record of publications, research grants and funding, and higher degree research supervision that will ensure that Griffith Business School continues its outstanding achievements in research. A demonstrated ability to network effectively will ensure that working relationships are improved both internally and with government, industry and community stakeholders. In addition, you will have demonstrated knowledge, skills and leadership in teaching and curriculum / program development at the tertiary education level, and a proven ability in the administration of University courses and programs. Previous experience leading teams and/or departments and contributing to the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals, will be viewed favourably.

Salary range

These appointments will be at Academic Level D (Associate Professor) or Level E (Professor), depending on the attributes and experience of the successful applicant.

Professor, Level E base salary: $186,531 AUD per annum, plus 17% employer's superannuation.

Associate Professor, Level D base salary: $144,806 - $159,532 AUD per annum, plus 17% employer's superannuation.
