The Jindal School of Public Health & Human Development (JSPH), the 12th school of JGU, will begin its first academic session in August 2022. We are seeking new faculty members interested in establishing India’s first interdisciplinary school for Public Health and Development.

About JSPH: 

JSPH is being established in alignment with University’s long term vision and focus on humanities and social sciences. JSPH will prepare and equip the next generation of professionals in the field of Health and Human Development and improve the capacity of the country and the world at large to meet their health care needs   These objectives will be pursued through undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes by combining traditional study areas of public health with relevant research and teaching that addresses health as a human right and sustainable development goals for all.

JSPH is looking to appoint faculty members to conduct teaching and research in the following areas: 

  • Foundations of Public Health
  • Biostatistics
  • Demography
  • Environmental Health Sciences
  • Health Planning, Management and Evaluation
  • Nutrition and Food Security
  • Health Protection during Disasters and Emergencies
  • Social and Behavioural Sciences
  • Disease Prevention and Control
  • Health Communication
  • Health Economics
  • Health Ethics and Human Rights
  • Human Development
  • Epidemiology

Positions:

We are hiring at all levels, including Professors/ Associate Professors/ Assistant Professor/ Assistant Lecturers/ Lecturers.

Role and Responsibilities:

The faculty member will be expected to teach undergraduate/ graduate courses, conduct research, mentor students and engage in school and university level activities. The faculty will also oversee internship programmes, as well as other activities seeking to improve the scholarship and leadership skills of the students.

The faculty will be expected to engage in scholarly research program in their field of expertise that could involve undergraduate students. We are especially interested in candidates who have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can work effectively with an increasingly diverse group of students and colleagues.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Doctorate in the related discipline at the time of application (Ph.D. in Health/ Nutrition/ Health Management / social and behavioural sciences/ Bio statistics/ Development Studies).
  • Undergraduate-level teaching experience in areas related to Public Health and Human Development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Desire to serve a culturally diverse student body.
