Job description

The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) together with The Institute for Global Food Security (IGFS) provide and facilitate a vibrant and integrated research environment, conducting globally competitive and sustainable research that addresses major challenges and develops solutions to many of the global challenges that we face today.

In line with our ambitious strategy, the School and Institute are seeking to make three appointments as Senior Lecturers or Lecturers to further enhance our excellence, enterprise and reputation and to underpin our strategic commitment to interlinking teaching and research in the following areas of planetary health and food systems:

1. Environmental Sustainability, Carbon Sequestration and Climate Change
2. Integrative Systems Biology 
3. Artificial intelligence and Data Innovation
4. Metabolomics and Biomarker Discovery

The successful candidates who will fit with the strategic vision of the School and Institute will be expected to establish and lead independent, competitively funded research programmes in their field of expertise and contribute to teaching a variety of aspects of the curriculum. They will support the School and Institute in providing high-quality student support in line with our teaching and learning strategy, fully utilising digital innovative platforms.
