Research Engineer, Mechanical Design, Simulation and Additive Manufacturing

Job Description

NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing has new openings in research engineer position with expertise and experience related Additive Manufacturing (AM), including mechanical design and analysis, printing processes, materials, and bio-image modelling. The successful candidate will work with Principal Investigators (PI), research staff, laboratory technicians, administrative staffs and students in the centre to promote and apply AM technologies.

The candidate's duties will include:

  • Working closely with industry and hospitals to explore opportunities for collaboration
  • Engaging in research projects and centre capability development
  • Assisting centre PIs in writing project proposals, reports, technical papers and invention disclosures
  • Responsible for equipment operation and maintenance
  • Providing training to 3DP machine users

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or Master degree in Engineering, Design, Biomedical, or Material Sciences
  • Experience in product development, especially with capability of CAD design and mechanical simulation
  • Experience related to AM technologies
  • Experience in bio-imaging processing will be a plus
  • Creative, self-motivated, good team player
