Full Professor or Associate Professor in History (Asia)

The School of Humanities invites outstanding academics to apply for a faculty position in History at the rank of Full Professor or Associate Professor (with tenure). Candidates should possess a distinguished track record of publications in Asian Studies or History of Asia. The sub-region and time period of specialisation is open. Historical approaches with transnational and global dimensions are welcome.

The successful applicant is expected to provide academic leadership in the subject area of History within the School of Humanities and to engage actively in research, teaching, and service. NTU’s comprehensive History programme has particular strengths in the history of science, technology, medicine, the environment, and business. It currently offers a Major and a Minor in History, and MA and PhD programmes.

Emoluments
The salary is competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package.

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
