Job Description
The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments.
- Review, approve, and sign-out reports for a variety of metabolic results on platforms including tandem mass spectrometry, GC-MS, enzymology, and other methodologies.
- Interpret complex biochemical analysis results in the context of medical literature, along with relevant patient demographic data.
- Provide clinical and technical support for laboratory personnel including appropriate test method selection
- Set standards for laboratory testing and acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensure these are maintained
- Oversee overall quality management in the lab including QC, internal and external QA
- Analyze lab data, contribute to or write publications for high-quality scientific journals.
- Availability for consultation concerning test results and the interpretation of those results as they relate to specific patient conditions
- Review, approve, and sign-out reports for a variety of metabolic results on platforms including tandem mass spectrometry, GC-MS, enzymology, and other methodologies.
Minimum Qualification
- PhD in a related scientific field required.
- ABMGG board-certified in Clinical biochemical genetics, or equivalent board required.
- 5 or more years of experience in a certified clinical biochemical genetics laboratory setting analyzing, interpreting and reporting clinical metabolic data.
- Knowledge of current newborn screening practices.
- Management experience required.
