Come  join our newly expanded Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team and at a time where we have significantly increased our commitment to this area of work and there is a genuine commitment from the very top of the University to see our ED&I vision realised. You will be the first person in this new role. This truly is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping cultural change.

We are looking for a person who can confidently write and speak about equality, diversity and inclusion, in its broadest sense, in a manner that is authentic, sophisticated and engaging, demonstrating a real understanding of the complexities and intersections involved. The successful candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment, and will be able to quickly build strong trusting relationships across very different groups of people.

The primary responsibility of the role is to be lead author of the various institutional equality charter submissions to which the University is signatory. This means that you will work with insight and data from multiple sources and your role is to assemble and edit these sources so that they form an honest, compelling narrative that meet the criteria of the different charters.

Across the University we have examples of fantastic work that helps make equality, diversity and inclusion a reality. Another part of your role will be to foster and develop a strong network of peers to highlight and share good practice, as well as finding ways to clearly communicate to the whole University community how what we are doing is helping create the change we want to see and make visible to staff and students how they can be part of this change.

We are especially welcoming applications from individuals who come from diverse backgrounds and who have lived experience of being one of only a few in a predominately white, heterosexual and middle-class space.

We are happy to consider applications for 0.8 FTE for this vacancy.

Interviews will be held on Monday 6 September. The interview will be taking place using MS Teams, candidates invited to interview will be given a pre-interview task to complete. This will be sent to shortlisted candidates via email on Thursday 26 August.
