Job Description

  • Provide research assistance• Assist with data collection and algorithm development (e.g., natural language processing)
  • Collect data from resources of various languages. Data collection will include implementing automated downloading from public sources, such as social media
  • Analyze data - use computational linguistic and machine-learning techniques to construct measurement from text/script
  • Conduct literature reviews in areas of Fintech, social media, etc
  • Compile information and write research reports

Qualifications

  • PhD or Master degree in Computer Science, Information System, Economics, Business, or related fields (with substantial computing/programming training), Undergraduate or Master degree and research experience in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Statistics is a plus
  • Knowledge of computer science foundations and fundamental / information studies
  • Knowledge in programming languages, knows how to work with operating systems and how to maintain databases, especially in Big Data Management
  • Knowledge in accounting, in particular, the ability to understand financial reports
  • Experience/training in accounting, finance, business, or economics research; able to collect data from various resources
  • Competency in the use of statistics in research
  • Ability in using and/or programming using statistical software (e.g. SAS, Stata, Python)
  • Ability to handle a high volume of quantitative work, with attention to details
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills
