CeDAS is the central hub of academic writing and skills development within the College and aims to enable all students to fulfil their academic potential. CeDAS is the home department for a newly launched Integrated Foundation Year which started in September 2019. The programme is a key plank of the College’s commitment to access to Higher Education and aims to prepare students who haven’t quite met the required grades for direct entry, do not possess the right combination of subjects, or have been out of education for a long time, to successfully transition into their undergraduate programmes.  The post holder play a key role in delivering and assessing NQF level 3 subject content and transition to level 4 on the Sciences strand in at least one of the following areas:

Curriculum development will also be required as part of the drive for continuous improvement of teaching and learning within the Centre. Marking and course administration form an integral part of the role.

The post offers an exciting opportunity to work in a new venture in a prestigious academic institution, with Royal Holloway placed 24th in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide national rankings for 2019.

Successful candidates should be enthusiastic, empathetic and student-centred practitioners, bring intellectual excitement and energy to the teaching, have subject-specific knowledge, and experience of teaching at level 3 and / or undergraduate level. Candidates should have a passion for developing the skills of students, and an interest in innovative approaches to an inclusive university education.

In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:

  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Training and Development opportunities
  • Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
  • Various schemes including Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing.
