About the Portfolio

The Research and Innovation Portfolio supports researchers and graduate researchers with research partnerships, grants and research contracts, funding opportunities, capability development, research training, ethics and integrity, intellectual property, commercialisation, internships, communication and profile. Research & Innovation Capability sits within this Portfolio and builds strategic capability and capacity to drive research excellence and create impact from research.

About the role

As Coordinator, Strategic Capability Initiatives, you will support the formation and ongoing development of University-wide researcher networks through outreach, coordination, and delivery support. Networks are key to this role in providing opportunities for collaboration, career development, and the overall enhancement of RMIT's research and innovation capability.

You will support the coordination and delivery of key researcher support programs and be involved in providing targeted support to eligible researchers.

To be successful in this position, you will be required to have the following:

  • Must identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills that support an effective working relationship with internal and external groups and individuals.
  • High-level of organisational and time management skills, with proven ability to organise and prioritise work and complete tasks with tight timeframes.
  • Advanced written communication skills, including the ability to prepare high level correspondence, reports, advisory notes and the delivery of information sessions/presentations.
  • A service excellence mindset, with a focus on delivering high quality results for the needs associated with all stakeholders (internal and external).
  • High-level problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify and manage sensitive issues.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant work experience.
