About CHILD

The Centre for Holistic Initiatives for Learning and Development or CHILD is a collaboration between the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, the Lien Foundation, the Centre for Evidence and Implementation (CEI), and A*STAR’s Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS). CHILD brings together experts in the field of child development and implementation science to help give children the best start to life.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated research fellow to undertake multi-disciplinary research aimed at improving child health and development. The successful candidate will i) use data from longitudinal cohort studies to investigate neurodevelopmental and metabolic factors underpinning children’s eating behaviour, health and wellbeing, and ii) contribute to the translation of research findings as part of a multidisciplinary team focusing on the design and implementation of pilot interventions with children and families.

Job Responsibilities

Undertake and provide expertise across a variety of research-related activities including but not limited to:

  • Design, planning and execution of research projects with behavioral components.
  • Analysis and interpretation of multidimensional longitudinal data sets.
  • Writing of research reports, peer-reviewed publications and grant applications.
  • Dissemination of research proposals and findings through presentations internally and externally at scientific meetings and conferences.
  • Working closely with the team lead, collaborators and cross-disciplinary research teams and support staff.
  • Mentoring junior research staff.

Qualifications

  • A PhD in Psychology/Neuroscience/Behavioral Science or a related discipline
  • An interest in eating behaviour and/or applied research will be an advantage.
  • Research experience demonstrating cross-disciplinary integration
  • A strong grounding in the analysis and interpretation of complex data sets using advanced statistical techniques and software (e.g. SPSS, R etc.).
  • Evidence of peer-reviewed publications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented
  • Creative and a problem solver
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • It would be an added advantage if the candidate has at least 2 years’ relevant work experience.
