Working with a very experienced team, you will learn all aspects of Carpentry working on a variety of sites at the University. At first you will be working alongside a ‘mentor’ who will assist in developing your knowledge and skills and as you gain more experience you will be given more responsibility. You will be required to attend Block release at City College Southampton as part of your Apprenticeship and will be assigned to an assessor who will assist in developing your skills as you progress in your career.

Skills Required

  • A definite interest / passion for Carpentry
  • You must be punctual, reliable and hardworking
  • You must have a friendly, positive outlook and enjoy working as part of a team. You must be hardworking and enjoy practical tasks.

Qualifications

D/3 or above in English and Maths GCSE is the Entry Requirements for this course. We will ask for evidence of this when applying. If you cannot provide evidence, we unfortunately cannot progress with your application.

Salary:

Year 1 (60%) £12,405.00
Year 2 (70%) £14,475.50

Upon completion of apprenticeship: Level 2b, Spinal point 13 £20,675.00 (100%).

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday- 8am – 4:30pm
Friday 8am – 1pm
35 Hours a week.
