About This Opportunity

AIBN is seeking to appoint a number of outstanding Senior Research Fellows/Principal Research Fellows and Group Leaders to shape, expand, coordinate and execute the research on:

These positions will be key in leading our strategic agenda to develop new initiatives in the relevant discipline area, in collaboration with multiple stakeholders both locally and internationally. Should you be successful, you will be expected to demonstrate outstanding leadership in guiding the development of others, major funding initiatives and intellectual leadership beyond their specific areas of research.

Our Ideal Candidate

To be successful for this opportunity, you will hold a PhD within the relevant discipline area, partnered with an established, national research profile. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a research team, including a strong record of successfully obtaining and managing external research funding. You will also hold a solid record of supervising HDR students to successful completion. Finally, you will be able to demonstrate meaningful contribution of internal services roles in conjunction with a strong contribution to external activities.

What We Can Offer

We are recruiting to multiple full-time, fixed term positions for five years at Research Academic level C or D.  Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

  • At Academic Level C, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range AUD$121,939 - $140,603 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range AUD$142,669 - $164,506
  • At Academic Level D, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range AUD$146,824 - $161,756 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range AUD$187,918 - $207,028
