Hourly rate for this post; £17.52. Please note for every hour of teaching, where you are responsible for curriculum and assessment delivery, you are given, you will also be allocated 1.5 hours of preparation and marking time.

Associate Lecturer jobs will be based either at Lincoln, Dartmouth or online depending on the individual and their circumstances. Expressions of interest are invited for defence sector related programmes on an ongoing basis. Subject areas include: Air and Space Power, Marine Studies, Maritime studies, Meteorology and Oceanography, Cyber and Electromagnetic Activities,  Logistics, Equality Diversity and Inclusion, Governance, Enterprise, Digitalisation, Sustainability, Strategic Studies, Resilience, International Relations, Computer Science, Defence Studies, Electronics in Defence, Engineering Science.

We are particularly looking for those who are experienced in working with Leaders and Managers around presentation and communication skills. This could be written, verbal or emerging digital technologies. We welcome those with experience of working with those across a range of abilities and experience. Applications are especially welcome from a leadership and management background or defence leadership.

The University of Lincoln is the academic partner in a consortium of companies engaged in delivering ‘Project Selborne’, a large, multidisciplinary training and educational service to the Royal Navy in a partnership expected to last more than a decade. The Naval Service describes the vision for Project Selborne as: ‘A maritime training system that prepares the Royal Navy’s people, units, platforms and formations to deliver successfully the full spectrum of maritime operations.’ 

Project Selborne is a wide-scale, 12-year transformation of the Royal Navy’s Training System and includes systems, equipment, personnel and qualifications. As part of this, the University of Lincoln will deliver several academic programmes in partnership with Capita Plc, as part of the wider ‘Fisher Training’ consortium of partners.  

The role of Associate Lecturer will focus on a number of teaching and training programmes for Naval Officers that are part of a broad range of professional development pathways. This role will very much contribute to laying the foundations for a range of maritime related areas. This is an exciting opportunity as the post-holder will play a role in implementing key aims of the multi-million pound contract, working within an interdisciplinary team to achieve greatest success.
