You will lead the development of new LED devices, addressing some real life manufacturing challenges. You will plan, design, manufacture and characterise the LED devices required to specific engineering applications. You will take charge of a new product development from the start to end and incorporate your design in new commercial products.

As a minimum, this role requires a Master level degree in Physics/Electronic engineering or related subject.  It would be advantageous if you also have a PhD, preferably with experimental research in one of these areas.

This role requires knowledge of compound semiconductor materials and devices and that include material assessment and designs, device fabrication processes and lithography techniques and characterisation of LED devices along with reliability testing of LED devices. Knowledge of semiconductor modeling software and experience of using some would also be desirable in this role. This role would suit an individual with excellent compound semiconductor design, simulation and hands on fabrications skills and the ability to learn new skills quickly. Previous demonstrable experience of working with compound semiconductor is also essential.

In return, the successful applicant will have exciting opportunities for career development in this key position, and to support world leading research and education, joining a supportive team and environment.
