Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD School of Education.

The UCD School of Education is seeking to appoint a post-doctoral researcher to work on the qualitative component of Ireland's first national longitudinal study of children's lived experiences of primary schooling in Ireland: Children's School Lives (CSL).

This project is funded by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment. The overarching CSL study is designed to capture the experiences of two cohorts of children, their parents, teachers and school leaders, across a six-year period. Working across core themes related to Equalities, Voice and Inclusion, Engagement, Transitions, Well-Being and Learning Outcomes, the study provides a unique insight into primary schooling in Ireland.

For more information please see the study website: www.cslstudy.ie This is a high-calibre position that will offer the successful applicant a rare opportunity to work on a ground-breaking national longitudinal study of children in primary schools in Ireland. We are looking for a postdoctoral level researcher who can help us design and carry out interviews with children, parents, grandparents, teachers and school leaders, participatory methods for children aged 5 - 12-years-old, and observations of children and teachers in school contexts. Ideally this person will have experience in educational/school-related research, working with longitudinal qualitative data and/or with data generated from in depth case studies of schools. Experience of researching pedagogies in primary school classrooms is especially welcome.
