About the position

Situated within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, the Bond University Medical Program is comprised of two sequential degrees, the Bachelor of Medical Studies and the Doctor of Medicine. The program has full accreditation with the Australian Medical Council and places a strong emphasis on the quality of student experience. The Quality Indicators of Learning and Teaching (QILT) rankings have listed Bond University Medicine number 1 in Australia for student satisfaction with teaching quality, student support and skill development.

To support continued strength in student experience, a number of key academic positions are now available. Across a range of disciplines, these positions provide ideal opportunities for individuals with capacity to promote a culture of excellence in medical education and research.

With the leadership of senior academic staff, the successful candidate will contribute to development of curriculum resources, assessment items and delivery of physiology and genetics content within the Medical Program. The major focus will be within the pre-clinical years (Bachelor of Medical Studies) component of the Medical Program but may also extend into the clinical component (MD) as required.

You will also be expected to establish research activities relevant to their expertise in an area that is synergistic with existing research activity within the faculty. Particular areas of interest include but are not limited to urology, genetics or stem cell research, medical education fields including curriculum development, student assessment, interprofessional education, stigma in healthcare, professionalism, First Nations health and education, evidence based practice, social and behavioural science or psychology.

About the person:

To be considered for the appointment, candidates will have a PhD or equivalent qualification. They will have a developing track record of effective teaching in physiology, research and academic administration within the higher education sector, ideally within a medical education context. Higher order communication skills and the ability to work in teams with academics from multiple disciplines is essential.

Salary details:

The salary range for the position is $119, 681 - $141,945 plus 10% superannuation and will be commensurate with skills and experience. Salary packaging options are available for eligible employees.
