The School of Mathematical Sciences at University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) seeks to fill an academic position at the level of assistant professor. The position is open to candidates with research interests in any field of Mathematics or Statistics.

The person appointed will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate Applied Mathematics/Statistics programmes. The person appointed will be expected to conduct ongoing original research for publication and contribute to the research activities of the School.

Candidates must have or have qualified for a PhD in a relevant discipline. Experience of teaching and tutorial work in relevant subjects at undergraduate level in an international English-speaking institution is also preferable. The role holder will be mainly expected to contribute to the teaching and research of the school.

Salary will be within the range of RMB 411,197 to RMB 541,469 per annum, depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including employment support allowance, schooling support, first arrival & repatriation support, and international private insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The person appointed to this role will be expected to commence employment in person at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China in September 2021 or as soon as thereafter. The post will initially be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of up to five years. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
