The Department

The Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences at Durham University offers a vibrant, innovative and friendly academic environment for talented individuals to flourish, whose research and teaching interests and experiences align with and extend the existing thematic strengths of the department. We are looking to appoint a high quality, intellectually curious, and collegial individual who can contribute to excellence in teaching and citizenship. We seek to appoint an individual who wants to join a multi-disciplinary research and teaching community dedicated to tackling inequalities, promoting social justice and ensuring better health and wellbeing within and through sport, exercise and physical activity. We are looking to appoint a talented individual (or individuals, refer to comment regarding potential job shares) that can contribute to teaching across social science modules, including Sport, Health and the Environment. The successful applicant will contribute to the Department's taught programmes, which are ranked in the Top 10 best sport-related degrees in the country. They will also be required to be an excellent citizen by successfully contributing to the administration of the Department, undertaking citizenship roles appropriate to their career stage.
