This is a new role in the field of Sales, Key Account Management or B2B Marketing.

We are recruiting a new faculty member with relevant experience to support our long-term plans and further strengthen our core areas of research and teaching in Sales & Sales Management, Key Account Management or Business to Business Marketing. So, whether your expertise has been developed in a leadership position in the corporate world or in academia, we are open to applications from a variety of backgrounds.

The Centre has a strong research ethos and its members have published in high-quality, impactful journals including Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Sciences, Journal of Service Research, Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Review and California Management Review.

About the role

Your role and responsibilities will be agreed with you on the basis of your experience and the profile of the academic career you are seeking – education & scholarship, or research & teaching focused.

You will be joining a collaborative faculty group that balances teaching with rigorous and relevant research and working in a close-to-practice academic, postgraduate environment. You will be engaging with senior managers and you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise in executive education in due course if you have not already done so. We are looking for collaborative people to join a close-knit unit to contribute to the development of Cranfield’s thought leadership in Marketing & Sales.

About You

You will either have a PhD in a relevant academic area or equivalent experience.  This experience can be from an academic role, or from an industry-based leadership role that demonstrates your expertise and thought leadership in Sales or KAM. You may be given the opportunity to commence a PhD.

You are expected to demonstrate an impact on the ongoing professionalisation of specialist roles in this field. You will have an academic or equivalent industry-based career with the requisite leadership and management experience. A PhD and publications track record are highly desirable but not essential for you to be considered for this opportunity, however you will have a post graduate degree and be able to demonstrate a contribution to scholarly practice.  We are seeking people to join the team who are as passionate as we are about the field of Strategic Sales and Account Management.

Cranfield values industrial experience and therefore any practical experience of working in marketing, operations, sales, business development, consultancy, or related contexts can be a valued bonus.

Our values

Our shared, stated values help to define who we are and underpin everything we do: Ambition; Impact; Respect; and Community. Find out more here. We aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together and realise their full potential.

Diversity and Inclusion

Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring has shown that women and minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within the university and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.

Flexible Working

We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.
