The Fashion Retail Academy (Ofsted outstanding) is a unique, industry led college. Founded by retail giants, we offer a range of exclusive Fashion courses with unparalleled industry involvement to ensure our students gain the skills and contacts needed to successfully progress to employment.
Supported by and working closely with over 130 fashion brands, we offer a wide range of specialist fashion Diploma, Degree and Short courses, many of these exclusive to the FRA, for students of all ages with start dates throughout the year. Our courses are developed to provide our students with a combination of in-depth Fashion Retail knowledge and hands-on practical work experience in the industry. Most of our full-time courses offer our students a guaranteed work placement with a major high street brand, ensuring our graduates leave with a wide range of skills and experience and the fastest route into work.

To support our ambitious and on-going expansion and diversification plans, we have exciting opportunities available for suitably qualified and experienced academics to join our expanding Higher Education team as the following:

  • Programme Manager responsible for courses in the Fashion Business subject area.

Your specialist skills must align with the following subject areas: Fashion Retail, Business Management, Buying and Merchandising, Supply chain, Sustainability, and Business analytics. Good knowledge of the other specialist areas through teaching in HE and working within the Fashion and Retail Industry is also desirable.

  • Programme Manager covering Fashion Marketing, Communication and Consumer Behaviour courses.

Your specialist skills must align with the following subject areas: Marketing and communication, PR and Promotion, Marketing Strategy, Brand management, Performance marketing, Consumer behaviour, UX/UI and Styling. Good knowledge of the other specialist areas developed through teaching in HE and working within the Fashion and Retail Industry is also desirable.

The Programme Manager will lead, manage and develop an expanding teaching programme, comprised of multiple industry relevant courses, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth, ensuring every student receives the highest quality of teaching, learning and feedback, successfully preparing them for roles in industry.  The Programme Manager will advise and guide the FRA on the latest industry changes, to ensure their courses stay current and industry relevant, as well as taking a lead role in the creation and delivery of new courses.

Successful candidates must have advanced knowledge and previous experience of teaching and curriculum development within a Higher Education environment as well as substantial and relevant fashion industry professional experience. Ideally, you will have a degree in Fashion Business, Marketing, Retail or Management or a related subject.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to strategically plan a programme of activity, ensuring its constant review and improvement. The ability to adopt a holistic approach when implementing change is critical, ensuring all degrees within the programme and all areas of the student journey are suitably aligned.

The successful candidate will have exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to instil a culture of continuous improvement in every aspect of the programme, as well as role model teaching and learning best practice at all times.  You will recognise the importance of data and be proficient in the monitoring and analysis of it, with the ability to make sound recommendations and changes in response to it, ensuring all students have every opportunity to succeed. Knowledge of safeguarding and student support issues is also required for the role.

The FRA works to create the best imaginable learning journey and be at the forefront of delivering a tailored and forward-looking curriculum for every learner.

In return for your expertise, drive and passion for educating a new generation of professionals and influencing the industry superstars of tomorrow, we offer support in developing your teaching practice in a vibrant environment, working alongside an innovative and supportive team of academics, industry entrepreneurs and dual industry professionals.
