The School of History and Heritage forms part of the College of Arts, the largest College in the University, and is located at the University’s main Brayford Campus beside a natural pool in the River Witham. The School has a growing portfolio of subjects to add to its well-established History and Conservation programmes, and has launched Modern History, Philosophy and Art History and History BA courses.

They may be asked to coordinate and teach on study skills modules and modern survey modules. They will take on personal tutor groups and will supervise dissertations at BA level. Some sessions of teaching on the MA History programme may be available. They may also be asked to teach in other areas of history as required, at first-, second-, or third-year level, and will be expected to contribute to Open Days and other recruitment activities.

In making an application please outline your subject specialism and how it relates to the advertised post and to programmes in the School of History and Heritage; provide examples of your experience in teaching on a range of modules within modern Chinese History and explain any previous experience you have of administrative, pastoral and recruitment activities.

The successful candidate will join a thriving, friendly School with a strong collaborative culture. We take teaching and student experience very seriously, and in the latest NSS the History programme performed well.
