Arts University Bournemouth is renowned globally as a professional arts university, dedicated to turning creativity into careers. Our culture of making, performing, and shaping cultures is at the heart of our learning, research and engagement. Our values speak of collaboration, connectedness and innovative practice, underpinned by a passion for our academic disciplines and extensive partnerships with industry, professions and communities.

We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and strive for our staff to be from diverse backgrounds.  We positively encourage applications from individuals within under-represented groups and welcome applications from individuals regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

We are seeking to recruit to the new position of EDI Academic Enhancement Advisor / Senior Lecturer to coordinate the delivery of enhancing the curriculum and academic practice of colleagues with specific reference to equalities, diversity and inclusion (EDI), to ensure an enhanced student experience and close linkages to the University’s values. The postholder will also address educational inequalities aligned to AUB’s Access and Participation Plan, through the promotion of an inclusive pedagogy and curriculum developments and CPD to colleagues and support to staff across the university; fostering inspirational and inclusive teaching, learning and assessment practices to support positive outcomes for all students.

You will be a member of the cross university EDI team to ensure our equalities work is seamless and coordinated and thereby fostering strong relationships throughout the student and staff base.

As an exceptional teacher the post holder will work as a Senior Lecturer teaching to a particular course or group of courses dependent on their creative practice and expertise and teach on Higher Education Courses and Awards offered by the University.

This role is split between EDI Academic Enhancement duties (60%) focused on supporting the EDI curriculum/academic practice of colleagues across the AUB spectrum of courses and Senior Lecturer duties (40%) on a course relevant to the expertise of the individual.

You will bring to university a strong track record of pedagogic understanding/scholarship in either: inclusive teaching and learning in creative arts/media and or developing innovative educational practice in support of creative arts students from a diverse range of backgrounds.

You will be passionate about the transformative power of higher education and keen to adopt innovative approaches to eliminate inequality and promote diversity and inclusion across the whole University community.
