Law Tutor and Senior Law Tutor vacancies – London Moorgate, London Bloomsbury campuses and ULaw Online (the University’s dedicated online campus)

The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world's largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 900 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. We were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 we gained university title. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds.

In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.

What really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement.

That's why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.

We have an impressive record of student success and satisfaction:

  • We have been ranked first amongst universities for overall student satisfaction in England in the 2020 National Student Survey.
  • 94% of postgraduate students in employment were in Highly Skilled Occupations 15 months after graduating (2017/18 Graduate Outcomes data).
  • In 2019, The University of Law was awarded a silver rating in the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF). We were found to deliver high quality teaching, learning and outcomes for our students and consistently exceed rigorous national quality requirements for UK higher education.

Due to significant student growth throughout our campuses, we are looking to recruit a number of qualified solicitors or barristers with a genuine passion for quality and excellence, who can demonstrate successful legal practice experience. You may or may not have previous experience of teaching and course design, but what is important to us is that you have the drive and enthusiasm to learn.

This is an opportunity to inspire and develop the next generation of legal talent by providing tuition across the University of Law course portfolio. You should have a genuine passion for quality and excellence, with relevant successful legal practice experience.  You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise and become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience, primarily teaching on our LPC, GDL, BPC and LLB programmes.

Due to the variety of courses and numbers of students, tutors are expected to be present on campus during their usual working hours, although occasional flexible working may be possible. Classes and extra-curricular events are also routinely delivered over weekends and evenings and tutors are expected to work flexibly within these parameters.

We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private medical scheme, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, and travel loans. As part of the tutor development programme, we will also support you to study for a recognised teaching qualification within your first 18 months of employment.
As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are also looking to recruit high-calibre Law Tutors and Senior Law Tutors to join our teaching teams in the following campuses: Manchester, Newcastle and Bristol.

Please note, CVs will not be considered and only application forms are accepted for this role.

No agencies please.
