Job Purpose
We are looking for talented individuals to join Lee’s Lab at Department of Medicine, NUS. Our team aims to develop synthetic macromolecules for prevention and treatment of HBV infection and liver cancer, and to understand underlying antiviral molecular mechanism of the macromolecules. We have recently developed synthetic polymers with potent antiviral activity against HBV infection both in vitro and in vivo. Candidates will work on compositional optimization of the macromolecules and nanoparticulate formulation of the optimized macromolecules for evaluation of in vivo efficacy. Candidates will also work on evaluation of biodistribution and in vivo toxicity of the optimized macromolecules. Highly motivated individuals with a passion to advance medicine are encouraged to apply.
Job Description
- Project planning, data analysis, manuscript preparation and grant applications.
- Perform synthesis of polymers, nanoparticle and hydrogel formulation
- Perform experiments involving cell culture, biodistribution and animal studies, etc.
- Present research findings at lab meetings and seminars
- Contribute to collaborative projects.
- Guide and train students and junior lab members.
- Assist in lab management with other lab members.
- Uphold research integrity and ensure safety compliance
Qualifications
- Applicants should possess a PhD in biomaterials, bioengineering, polymer chemistry or equivalent from a local university. Applicant who obtained his/her PhD in 5 years or less is preferred.
- Experience with animal study will be considered favorably.
- Able to undertake independent research and be an effective team player.
- Strong analytical, technical and problem solving skills.
- Committed, able to work flexible hours and within the deadline.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
