The Department of Integrative Agriculture seeks to fill this position in Fisheries and Marine Science at the level of Assistant/ Associate Professor with primary research and secondary teaching responsibilities. This position focuses on Marine and Fisheries resource management, production and conservation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The college envisions educating, training and conducting frontier research to advance commercial fisheries, recreational fisheries, and aquaculture systems. The successful candidate must develop a competitive and internationally visible research program with emphasis on sustainable management of fisheries while preserving optimal marine ecosystem for advancing the UAE fishery industry. Assessing climate change and its current/future impact on coastal productivity will be highly encouraged. The incumbent should be able to obtain/attract extramural funding through individual and collaborative efforts. The candidate must develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of emphases described above, supervise M.S. and Ph.D. students, and building a strong outreach program with the relevant government organizations/institutes, private sector and agricultural industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must hold a PhD degree in Fisheries or Marine Sciences, or closely related field and must have documented research experience in marine resource management, and development of sustainable harvesting practices for commercial fisheries stocks. Post-doctoral experience with a scholarly emphasis on freshwater fish ecology, aquaculture, or quantitative fishery science is desired. Evidence of research excellence, ability to develop and effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses is expected.

Preferred Qualification

Assistant or Associate Professor with a significant international research record in the concerned field.
