We are now seeking to appoint a University Secretary & Registrar to lead our governance, compliance, registry, information and quality functions. The role is the senior governance officer in the University and acts as a trusted adviser to the Chair, Board and Vice-Chancellor, providing a link between governance and executive functions. This important role sits within the Vice-Chancellors Group and also leads essential functions that ensure institutional compliance with the requirements of the Office for Students, and other regulators which are active in the higher education sector.

The University is on an ambitious trajectory, this position, reporting jointly to the Vice-Chancellor and Chair of Governors, plays a critical and high-profile role in shaping, informing and delivering the University strategy. A member of the Vice-Chancellors Group and working closely with the Governors, our next University Secretary & Registrar will bring wide-ranging skills and relevant experience particularly in a governance leadership role. You will be able to deep-dive into these broad functions and shape and lead the services to be aligned to the achievement of our strategy.

The University seeks appropriately qualified candidates who can bring a real balance of the strategic and operational, someone who can lead and inspire a team and develop our approach, so we are not only compliant with regulation but also using governance as a tool to support strategic change.
