Job Description

The job concerned is to help lead and manage a research project on the refinement of a set of metrics and the evaluation of an existing township with respect to its suitability for healthy living. In the face of population ageing and the COVID-19 pandemic, designing and planning healthy environments is becoming more and more critical. 

The study involves multiple methods, including spatial mapping, design ethnography, interviews, and focus group discussions, to identify and evaluate health-related provisions in the study area and provide evidence-based planning and design strategies to improve the township for population health.


Job Requirements

  • A PhD degree in Architecture, Built Environment, Urban Design, Healthcare, or other related disciplines;
  • Experience in conducting research relating to ageing, healthcare, urban design, community design, and high-density housing;
  • Experience in conducting design ethnography and interviews;
  • A strong motivation to advance knowledge and undertake impactful research;
  • Forward thinking and a keen interest to pursue new and innovative research ideas;
  • Good analytical thinking and a strong foundation in research methods;
  • Ability to manage and undertake research independently and to carry out complex multi-disciplinary assignments;
  • Ability to help lead and manage a small a research team.
