To support this exciting strategic initiative, the Business School is looking to appoint Associate Professors in the following subject areas:

  • Marketing
  • Digital Marketing

As a specialist in Marketing, the Associate Professor will teach subjects such as Strategic Marketing, Global Marketing Management, Brand & Communications Management, Marketing Planning and Consumer Behaviour.  As a specialist in Digital Marketing, the Associate Professor must have teaching expertise in Digital Marketing, Marketing Data Analytics, User Experience Design and Content Marketing.

The Associate Professor’s role provides academic leadership within the subject group to raise its profile both internally and externally, identifying initiatives that generate opportunities to develop the subject area’s course portfolio at both UG and PG level, and to extend the groups research capability. The role will have line management responsibilities, and will lead a team with others to ensure the subject group has the resources in place to meet the Department and School’s research, teaching and enterprise objectives. 

An Associate Professor will take on additional responsibilities for key School and Faculty initiatives, leading on areas such as Quality, Student Engagement and Experience, Research, Enterprise, Accreditation and management of our PSRBs. Successful applicants should be able to demonstrate teaching and research expertise in their subject area, and have extensive external professional industry and academic networks.

Depending on experience, applicants will teach across a variety of different areas, and all staff will contribute to teaching on Research Methods modules at Level 6 and Level 7.

All Business School staff have the opportunity, and will be expected to teach at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels from level 3 Foundation Year to level 7 Masters qualifications. 

Staff will be able to bid for research hours and take part in enterprise activities, including corporate and executive education.

What you need

  • You will be expected to have a PhD or nearing completion i.e. viva pending, or equivalent qualification. 
  • Applicants who have a Masters qualification and extensive practice experience at managerial level will also be considered. 
  • Preference will be given to staff who can demonstrate a research publication track record or a publication pipeline targeting well regarded refereed journals and/or securing research grants and contracts.
