Non-Tenure Track Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer up to Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position in Maritime Studies

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), which is under the College of Engineering, aspires to be a leading school for Sustainable Urban Systems. Currently, it has over 50 faculty members and more than 1,500 students, and is rapidly expanding its range of educational and research activities. Its faculty has led major university-wide strategic research thrusts in space creation, water research and sustainable built environment. Going forward, CEE is addressing critical problems in urban systems such as building structures and energy systems, sustainability of urban cities, and resiliency to natural and unnatural risks.

To fuel further development, we invite applications for a non-tenure track (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer) position up to a tenure-track (Assistant Professor) faculty position in the following areas of Maritime Studies.

Assistant Professorship:

  • Possess a PhD degree in relevant disciplines with expertise in areas such as maritime data analytics, marine environment and energy, shipping finance and management, maritime technology and innovation management, maritime regulatory framework, maritime simulation and modelling, international trade and brokering, multi-modal transport, global strategy and risk analysis from a reputable university
  • Preferably have at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience and teaching experience at the tertiary level

 

Senior Lectureship/ Lectureship:

  • Possess at least a Master’s degree in relevant disciplines in Maritime Studies from a reputable university
  • A strong track record of relevant teaching experience, as well as evidence of research, scholarship and leadership in curriculum development work.

Successful candidates are expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students and undergraduate projects. Candidates on tenure-track Assistant Professorship is also expected to work independently and jointly with other faculty members to attract funding in the relevant areas of research.
