The College of Health Science (CHS) was founded in 2016 following a 30-year success story as a department within various colleges at Qatar University. CHS is the national provider of high quality health sciences education and research in Qatar and offers undergraduate (BSc) programs in biomedical sciences, human nutrition, public health and physiotherapy as well as graduate programs; (MSc) in Biomedical Science, Master of public health (MPH) and (MSc) in Human Nutrition

It is worth mentioning that as members of QU, CHS faculty members have excellent opportunities to secure intramural and extramural funding for their research ideas.  Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) is major source of research funding, with individual project funding limit exceeding 1million/project (5million exceptional projects) along with student research funding programs. As the national and largest University in the country, Qatar University is the recipient of most of QNRF awards, with many research- active faculty members able to win multiple grants.   

Duties & Responsibilities    

1. Teach courses in the area of expertise such as but not limited Principles of Food Science and Nutrition, Food Chemistry, Food Processing, Quantity Food Production and Equipment, Food Quality Assurance, Food Safety and Quality Control, Risk Assessment, Communication and Management, Food Surveillance and Monitoring and Research.
2. Contribute to various committees at the Department, College, and University level 
3. Contribute to the research profile of College through research publications 
4. Coordinate the practical training of the students in the food safety sites
5. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department 

Qualifications  

1. Ph.D. in the Food Safety or closely related field – with strong practical experience in food safety
2. Applicant should demonstrate active role in both collaborating on and leading independent research, including grant writing and submission.
3. Strong peer reviewed publication record
4. Experience in teaching and supervising undergraduate and post graduate degrees
5. Knowledge on food safety accreditation from IFT or IFST
6. Ability lead as well as to function as a strong collaborator on a multidisciplinary team
7. Familiar with Educational technologies used in higher education sector 
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills (Arabic and English)

5. Copy of highest earned credential (transcript of highest degree if graduated from an institution where coursework was completed. However, if no course work was completed, a copy of the certificate letter from the registrar of your highest credential granting institution regarding your highest academic degree).
