*This is the expected starting salary for this post however appointment at a higher point may be made for candidates who demonstrate exceptional skills and experience relevant to the role.

Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Fellow in Nineteenth-Century Literature in the Department of English, School of Humanities.

This fixed term post will contribute to a key area of strength within the department and to our reputation for excellent teaching and scholarship in nineteenth century literature. The post-holder will be expected to teach and convene a number of courses across the undergraduate programme with a focus on the history of the novel, the literature of the fin de siècle and the work of Oscar Wilde, women’s writing, and a special option ‘Queer Histories’. 

You will have a proven track record of teaching a range of courses at undergraduate level with an established background in teaching and scholarship on the long nineteenth century. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to manage an intensive load of teaching, lecturing, and convening. You will be a strong team player, ready to support and benefit from the wider activities of the Department.
