Starting Salary is £43,660 per annum inclusive of London Allowance*

*This is the expected starting salary for this post however appointment at a higher point may be made for candidates who demonstrate exceptional skills and experience relevant to the role.

Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Fellow in Inclusive Pedagogies and Shakespeare/Early Modern Literature in the Department of English, School of Humanities.

This new role reflects Royal Holloway’s commitment to inclusion, excellence, and diminishing attainment gaps within our diverse student body. The role holder will play an important part in informing the delivery of the School of Humanities strategy in relation to key areas of student transition, blended learning, inclusive pedagogies and supporting international students. The appointee will make a significant contribution to teaching across a range of undergraduate courses with a special focus on Shakespeare and Early Modern literatures. They will be expected to support the Department’s schools outreach work via our TeacherHub and partnerships with regional Academy Trusts. The appointee will join a supportive department of internationally recognized scholars and highly committed teachers. 

You will have a PhD in the field of Shakespeare and/or Early Modern studies and experience in teaching across a range of different contexts and levels in that field. You will have a track record that demonstrates your ability to engage and inspire a diverse, ambitious, international, student body in relation to Shakespeare and early modern literature, theatre, and culture. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience of successful interventions and initiatives in relation to key requirements of the role, including inclusive pedagogies, blended learning, diminishing attainment gaps, academic writing and skills support, and decolonial approaches to the curriculum. You will be a strong team player, committed to developing the profile of teaching-focused appointments within the College.
