About the Curtin Project

The Program Lead will be responsible for the clinical management of the Early Moves Bayley-4 assessment program, working with the Early Moves team to plan, direct, facilitate and coordinate the Bayley4 assessments including the supervision and coordination of staff conducting Balyey-4 assessments for children enrolled in the Early Moves research project.

About the role:

Early Moves is an NHMRC-funded double blind, prospective cohort study, recruiting over 3,000 babies. It aims to determine if General Movements are an early biomarker for babies at risk of cognitive delay, to enable targeted early intervention. This position will require work from both Perth Children's Hospital and the Joondalup Health Campus. 

The successful candidate will use their specialist knowledge to: 

  • Conceptualise develop and review program plans and strategies.
  • Engage and influence key internal and external stakeholders to agree on program deliverables, timelines and implementation methods.
  • Work with stakeholders to prepare business cases, project briefs and proposals.
  • Manage implementation of program initiatives and monitor and evaluate program performance.
  • Liaise with portfolio lead team and work closely with other areas within the unit, including the other managers and specialists, to ensure alignment of program activities with broader directorate plans, priorities and business goals.
  • May provide leadership and guidance to staff, through effective talent management, career planning, performance reviews and development.
  • May manage a significant budget.
  • Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above

We are looking for someone with:

  • A degree qualification and extensive relevant management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage and influence others and to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external groups.
  • High level written communication skills with the ability to write clear concise, authoritative and persuasive reports, proposals and submissions
  • Completion of a Masters or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology and eligibility for full registration and endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Experience in the collection and reporting of Bayley Scale Infant and Toddler Assessments.
  • Previous experience in the clinical and/or research application of developmental assessment in young children.
  • Have previously coordinated and managed clinical projects.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and management skills with the ability to create and maintain effective customer focussed and efficient team culture.
