Research Fellow, High-field Quantum Electro-dynamics
Application closing date 26/07/2021
Salary £33,797 per annum
Job category/type Research
We have an excellent opportunity for a Post-doctoral Researcher to join Dr Gianluca Sarri on an EPSRC-funded program (grant No: EP/V049186/1) to carry out research work in high-field quantum electro-dynamics in the field of an intense laser, towards the first studies of quantum effects in the evolution and dynamics of high-density plasmas.
You will join a vibrant network of national and international collaborators working towards the design, execution, and analysis of the first experimental campaigns in high-field quantum electrodynamics using both in-house and international large-scale laser facilities and particle accelerators, including the Central Laser Facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and the Stanford Linear Accelerator (SLAC).
This is a fixed term post for 24 months, starting on or about 1 September 2021 in the first instance.
