The Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) invites applications for the position of Associate/Assistant Professor in the following disciplines:

  1. Pharmacology and therapeutics
  2. Immunology and microbiology
  3. Drug discovery and development
  4. Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Studies
  5. Neuroscience (Neurodegenerative Disorders and Neuropharmacology)
  6. Geriatrics

Established in 2002, ICMS is an academic centre of excellence in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences in the region. It hosts the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, which is China’s first and only state key Laboratory in the field of Chinese medical sciences. Over the past decade, the Institute has established an international reputation in conducting high-quality research with special emphasis on quality control of Chinese medicine, drug discovery & development, systems pharmacology and molecular pharmaceutics. It has secured outstanding funding support from both national and regional governments and built long-term strategic collaborations with top academic organizations around the world. Qualifications

Applicants should possess PhD/MD degree in biomedical sciences, traditional Chinese medicine or related disciplines, postdoctoral research experience from globally renowned universities, and should have a distinguished track record of internationally-recognized research publications. Priority consideration will be given to those with sustained high-quality research/teaching/clinical practice experience in traditional Chinese medicine or major fields of biomedical sciences and pharmaceutical sciences.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2021.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP 828,100 (approximately USD 102,230) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience.  The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. experience.
